Dina Morrone

Dina Morrone, the winner of the Valley Theatre Award for Best One Person Show for The Italian In Me, was born in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. She graduated from Ryerson University in Toronto and then moved to Rome, Italy, to pursue a professional acting career. She currently resides in Los Angeles, working as a writer, performer, and voice-over artist.

While working in Rome, Dina had many memorable moments. However, one of the highlights was a meeting with the Maestro himself, Federico Fellini, which subsequently became the inspiration for a portion of The Italian in Me. In addition, she was selected as one of the Top ten Actresses by reviewplays.com and received the Inspirational Award from The Los Angeles Women’s Theatre Festival.

Moose On The Loose, a comedy about an Italian family and a Canadian moose, Dina’s 12-person full-length play, had its world premiere at Theatre West in Los Angeles, where it opened to rave reviews.

Mel Brooks wrote, “I cannot tell a lie. Moose On The Loose is really funny and surprisingly moving.” Moose On The Loose was picked up and successfully produced in Canada by Magnus Theatre and the Sudbury Theatre Centre.

For the past seven years, Dina has been a writer and executive editor of The Eden Magazine. Some of the many interviews she has done include Bruce Dern, Gina Lollobrigida, Ed Begley Jr., Susan L. Taylor, and Blair Underwood, to name a select few.

Dina is a member of the Theatre West writers’ unit and sits on the Artistic Board as Co-Chair. She is also a member of the Playwrights Guild of Canada, Dramatists Guild of America, Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television, Alumni of Ryerson University and UCLA, SAG-AFTRA, and Equity. www.dinamorrone.com
